Pool Rules:
| 1.
Pick the winners of each game by entering a rank from 16 down to 1 or 3 (depending on how games are played each week).
| 2.
Point spreads as of 9 AM on Thursday will be used (from sports.yahoo.com/nfl/odds.html). The team with the (-x ½) must win by more than that number of points. A ½ point will be added to all line (so there's a winner for every game).
| 3.
Calculate totals to make sure you have entered correctly. You are responsible for checking your picks.
| 4.
Send your picks by pressing the send button.
| 5.
After picking, print a copy of the page for reference.
| 6.
Picks must be sent at least an hour before the kickoff of the first game of each week. (Keep track of weeks with Thursday and Saturday night games). Late entries will automatically lose the games missed (8 points for first game, 9 for second, 7 for third, 10 for fourth missed, etc.). Once the pool has been closed for the week, no changes can be made to already entered picks. For each game you pick correctly, you receive the number of points you ranked for that pick.
| 7.
If you do not get your picks in at all, you will receive the lowest score of those who played for that week.
| 8.
There are two ways to win: the person with highest number of points wins the week. There will also be a first, second, and third place winner at the end of the season.
Monday Night Bonus*: Three times during the year a cash bonus will be given to the person who picks the winning team and has the closest score of the Monday Night game. The winner is determined by the difference between his guess and the actual final score for both teams. He must have picked the winner to get the bonus.
Example:
Actual Final score: Seattle 27- Miami 20
Huey's guess: 24-14
Fernando's guess: 36-20
Beatrice's guess: 27-10
All three picked Seattle to win. Huey's difference is 9 (3+6), Fernando's is 9 (9+0) and Beatrice's is 10 (0+10).
Huey and Fernando are closest, but the tie goes to Huey, since he was closest to the winning team's score. Beatrice, having a 10 point difference, is third - even though she picked the exact winning team's score.
Weekly Tie breakers: Highest top-ranked games picked. Did players pick their 16 point game correctly, 15, 14, down until someone missed a game. Like a tie in poker.
Side Bets: Side bets can be placed between any two players with a maximum of 20 points to be bet by each player weekly. The loser of the bet will have the number of points bet transfered automatically to the winner of the bet.
There are two types of side bets: Single Game and Week High.
Single Game: In single game side bets, the challenger picks a player to challenge and a team in a game being held that week. The point spread is taken into account when calculating the winner.
Week High: Bet against another player in the pool to see who will have the higher week score for that particular week. Ties push.
Upon submitting bet invitation, your form will be emailed to the person invited. He will then have to confirm the invitation in order for the bet to be calculated. As soon as the bet has been confirmed, you will receive an email and the bet will be registered in the pool. The points will be calculated at the end of the week.
Cancelling Side Bets: Bet invitations and confirmed Side Bets are final. Pending Side Bets that have not been confirmed by the closing of the pool will be cancelled. Once an invitation for a bet has been sent out, only the player invited may reject the bet. If you send out an invitation and would like it cancelled, you may email the player invited and ask him to reject or ignore the bet.
